Reasons for hair loss in women

Hair loss in women is different from that of the men. Unlike male pattern baldness and hair loss, there is no thinning in the forehead and crown. Hair loss in women is more often, a gradual weakening of thinning of the structure of the hair. Every time a hair strand falls off the follicle, the re-grown hair is structurally thinner and weaker. This pattern continues till the follicle loses the ability to re-grow hair. This is a gradual process and if left untreated, can lead to permanent damage. This type of hair loss is typical of female pattern baldness and there are many reasons that cause it.

Living hair is an object of beautification for humans, more so for women. Everybody desires a thick, healthy and luxurious mop of hair that can be styled as wished. In this quest, most of us end up tarnishing the structure of the hairs. The hair is subjected to a lot of contaminants in the form of gels, creams and sprays, which damage the hair follicles and weaken the roots. Most of the hair grooming products contains harsh chemicals which destroy the natural oils that coat the surface of the hair. Prolonged usage of such chemicals can permanently damage the hair and leave them structurally weakened. This is the most common cause of hair loss in women.

It is also important to maintain a healthy diet, not only for body care but also for nurturing the hair. Modern day dietary habits are also one of the reasons for the increasing trend of hair loss in women. The primary source of hair nourishment is through the food that we eat. Vitamins and nutrients that are available in the food enter the blood stream and the blood carries these nutrients to the hair roots. Hair roots are very sensitive and need a constant source of nourishment for sustenance. Rebuilding them can take a lot of time and effort, so, it is better to take care of them via a properly balanced diet to prevent hair loss.

People suffering for illnesses and diseases also undergo hair loss as a side effect. The body re-routes the nutrients to the vital organs that are weakened by the illness and as a result, leaves the hair weakened. The strong medication that is used to treat the illness can also cause hair loss. After recovery, people tend to neglect the hair loss that had happened during the course of illness and this can lead to permanent hair loss in women. Hair care is an important aspect in preventing hair loss.
